commissions

Commissioning a painting isn't as daunting as you may think. It's not about knowing technical art terms or having a perfectly clear picture in your head—it's  about a feeling, memory or special place in mind...

Capture your memories

Perhaps there’s a special place where you feel most at peace, or a memory of a walk that you never want to fade. My commission process is a gentle, collaborative journey where we take that memory and give it texture, colour, and life.

Create your special feeling

You don't need to "speak artist" to work with me. You just need to share your story. Whether you have a collection of photos or a feeling you want to capture, I’ll guide you through every step. From our first chat to the final varnish, I will ensure the process is fun, relaxed, and entirely centred on creating a piece that feels like home.

How it works

1: Let's chat
Our journey begins with a conversation. Tell me why this place is special to you—is it the wild energy of the mountains or a place you enjoyed during your childhood? We’ll discuss the colours you like, techniques you like, materials I could use from the landscape (grasses, seaweed, etc.) and what size canvas you would like.

2: Deeper Meaning
If you have specific memories attached to the place, I’d love to hear them to help weave that emotion into the artwork.

3: Quote
I will email you a tailored quotation based on our discussion and ask you to sign and return the form when you are happy.

4: Deposit
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required, so that I can begin to source materials and start creating.

5: Gathering Inspiration
If the location is accessible (like the Surrey Hills or nearby), I will personally walk the landscape to absorb its energy, documenting the light and textures with photos and film to guide my intuitive process.

6: The Reveal
You will be invited to my studio to view your painting as it nears completion. If you cannot visit in person, we can arrange a video call, or I can send over some pictures and video to you.

7: Refinements & Finishing Touches
If you feel any small adjustments are needed, I will make these final touches now. Once you are happy, I will apply a UV Satin varnish to protect the vibrancy of the colours.

8: Framing
If you have chosen to have your artwork framed, I will order the frame in and complete the framing for you.

9: Final Balance
The remainder of
the balance is due at this stage.

10: Homecoming
Your commission will be ready for collection or, if you live locally, I can personally deliver it to its new home.

Costs & Expectations

The price is determined by the size of the artwork. Commissions cost 10% more than my original studio works to account for the bespoke nature of the creation and individual care involved.

Commissioned paintings typically take  4 – 6 weeks to create and frame (if required). Upon booking, we will agree on a start date that works for us both.

If you decide to proceed, I ask for a 50% non-refundable deposit. In the unlikely event that you aren't 100% happy with the final piece, there is no pressure to buy. I will, however, retain the deposit to cover my materials and the time and energy spend on creating the artwork.

If you have any further questions, please get in touch!

"I expected a beautiful painting, but I wasn't prepared for how it would make the room feel. It has this incredible energy that words can't quite describe—it feels like the heart of our home, of our very special place,

has finally been installed."
