‘Lifesaver!' is an interpretation of the harbour scene in Lymington. You can sense the strong maritime heritage here, from ship building and a steamer service, to early trade and smuggling. The harbour has always played a central role in the towns development, it is the heart and soul of Lymington town. Standing here, I fell in love with the rusty, rickety old boats gently bobbing up and down, the fishing boats in the background and a train passing over the water on the railway tracks. Lifesavers are sprinkled like cherries along the jetties, keeping a watchful eye on the harbour. There is a magical sense of peace and movement, an ebb and flow, a stillness in time.
